Ali Hassan Bhuiyan :
Dajjal is a highly discussed name in Islam. Very few Muslims can be found who are not familiar with the name Dajjal. There are many hadiths about this. If we take the literal meaning of the hadiths, we get the idea that Dajjal is a human being. But is Dajjal really a human being or something else? There is no direct or indirect discussion about Dajjal in the Qur’an, however Almighty Allah has instructed us in the Qur’an to think and reflect. In more than 100 verses, the Qur’an emphasizes contemplation, research (tafakkur), and the use of intellect (‘aql), which instruct people to reflect upon the creation and the signs of Allah. Among them are:
Thinking about creation: “Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for people of understanding” (Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:190).
Thinking about the Qur’an: “Do they not reflect upon the Qur’an?” (Surah An-Nisa 4:82).
Thinking about one’s own self: “Do they not reflect within themselves?” (Surah Al-Hashr 59:21).
Understanding the signs: “Thus Allah makes clear to you the signs so that you may think deeply” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:219).
If we look deeply into these four matters mentioned above, namely creation, the Qur’an, one’s own self, and the various signs of the past and present, and if we review the notable hadiths mentioned below regarding Dajjal in the light of logic and science and think from the perspective of reality about what is possible and what is not, then perhaps we may arrive at a different understanding, InshaAllah.
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: There was no prophet who passed away without warning his nation about the one-eyed liar Dajjal. Know that Dajjal will certainly be one-eyed. Also know that your Lord Allah is not one-eyed. Between the two eyes of Dajjal will be written Kaf-Fa-Ra, meaning kafir. (Mishkat Hadith no. 5237, Mina Book House and Sahih Bukhari (Islamic Foundation) 7131, 6646).
In the hadith of the Rasullah (s), Dajjal has been compared with lord Allah. The first question that arises is why this comparison. The reason for this comparison is habit. Humans are slaves of habit. If you observe carefully, you will see that we are servants of Almighty Allah in such a way that the worship we perform for Him is a kind of habit. Five daily prayers, fasting, charity, and sadaqah are all habits of people. It is this habit that separates a believer from a disbeliever. Now let us come to the case of Dajjal. If we look at the present time, we will see that in the age of digitalization we have become so accustomed to using computers, TV, mobile phones, and the internet that our lives are completely immobile without them. Now let us come to why Dajjal is being called digital instead of human. Behind this are logical explanations of various hadiths. First, we will discuss the naming of Dajjal and digital. If we observe, we will see that there are some differences between English and Arabic names. For example—
Adam — Adom
Hava — Hawwa
Abraham — Ibrahim
Solomon — Sulaiman
David — Dawud
Now let us look at the meaning of the word. ‘Dajjal’ originates from the root word (دجل), which means to lie, deceive, or cover the truth with falsehood. On the other hand, digital refers to electronic technology that processes, stores, and transfers information or data through binary code, that is 0 and 1. Unlike the analog system, it uses mathematical signals to provide fast and accurate results. Computers, smartphones, cameras, and internet-based modern technologies are examples of digital technology.
Now if we look at the screen of a TV, computer, or mobile phone in the light of creation, the Qur’an, one’s own self, and the various signs of the past and present, then what do we actually see? Something real or complete falsehood, which is only a game of numbers and a deception that appears to exist visibly but does not actually exist in reality.
Abu Khaysama Zuhayr ibn Harb (through another chain) Muhammad ibn Mihran narrated … In a hadith narrated from Nawwas ibn Sam‘an (RA), the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
“Listen, if Dajjal appears while I am among you, then I myself will confront him. You will not need to do so. But if Dajjal appears when I am not among you, then every believer will confront him on his own behalf. Allah Ta‘ala Himself will be the guardian on my behalf for every Muslim. Dajjal will be a young man with curly hair. His eye will be like a swollen grape. I find him resembling the disbeliever Abdul Uzza ibn Qatan. Whoever among you lives during his time should recite the opening verses of Surah Kahf. He will emerge from the route between Iraq and Syria. He will spread corruption to the right and left. O servants of Allah! Remain steadfast.”
We asked, “O Messenger of Allah, how long will he remain on earth?” In reply, the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “For forty days. The first day will be like a year, the second day like a month, and the third day like a week. The remaining days will be like your normal days.”
Based on the discussion of the above subjects, if we accept the hadiths, then by the Dajjal described in the hadiths it refers to the digital system and a specific group associated with it, and not to any single flesh-and-blood human being. Because it is stated in the Holy Qur’an: “Had it not been that all mankind would become one community (of complete believers or complete disbelievers), We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful roofs of silver for their houses and stairways upon which they could ascend. And for their houses We would have made doors and couches upon which they could recline. And ornaments of gold. Yet all this is nothing but enjoyment of the worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is only for the righteous.” [Surah Az-Zukhruf: 33–35]. According to this verse, if we reflect and take the hadiths literally, then it would become as illogical as unimaginable, as well as contradictory, and the very fear expressed in the Qur’an would seem likely to come into reality.
In this case, the first question that arises is why the Messenger of Allah (SAW) gave such descriptions. There may be two possible reasons for this. The first is knowledge. If a person or a group of people has no knowledge or concept about a matter, then how can someone explain it to them? By comparing it with something similar or by showing resemblance to an object or event about which those people already have some knowledge or understanding. As an example, one may mention Isa ibn Maryam. He was born from a virgin mother. To Muslims and Christians he is holy, but the Jews consider him illegitimate. Muslims and Christians accept it as the power of Allah, while the Jews do not. At that time people had no concept or knowledge regarding such matters, yet it is mentioned in the Qur’an. But if you observe the present time, there is no shortage of virgin mothers of this kind. You may ask how. The answer is surrogate motherhood or artificial reproduction, where sperm and egg are intentionally introduced into the cervix or uterus for the purpose of achieving pregnancy without sexual intercourse. Now, in that era, was there any example more acceptable as a similarity than Isa ibn Maryam in order to explain this matter to people?
The second is dreams. Such as the dream of Yusuf (AS). When Yusuf said to his father, “O my father! Indeed, I saw in a dream eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me.” (Surah Yusuf, verse 4). Here the stars symbolized his eleven brothers, the sun symbolized his father (Yaqub AS), and the moon symbolized his mother (Rachel). Here symbolic meaning was used. On the other hand, the dream of the king of Egypt mentioned in verses 43–49, whose interpretation was explained by Hazrat Yusuf (AS). The king saw seven fat cows being eaten by seven lean cows and seven green ears of grain along with seven dry ears. Yusuf (AS) interpreted it as seven years of abundant harvest in Egypt followed by seven years of severe famine. This dream came in a metaphorical sense.
In light of the above statements and for the sake of keeping the discussion brief, if we review the following notable hadiths, then we will see that from the perspective of reality, the more logical understanding is that by Dajjal the hadiths do not refer to a single individual or human being, but rather to the digital system and a particular group associated with it.
Hadith–3
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar (RA). The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Tonight I saw in a dream that I was near the Ka‘bah. There I saw a fair-complexioned man, among the most handsome fair people you have ever seen. He had long hair, among the most beautiful long hairs you have ever seen. He had combed and arranged it, and drops of water were falling from it. He was performing tawaf around the Ka‘bah while leaning on the shoulders of two men. I asked, ‘Who is this man?’ In reply, the angels said, ‘This is Masih ibn Maryam.’ Then I saw another man whose hair was extremely curly and tangled. His right eye was blind, appearing like a swollen grape. Among people, he most closely resembled the Jew Ibn Qatan. He too was performing tawaf around the Ka‘bah while leaning on the shoulders of two men. I asked, ‘Who is this man?’ They replied, ‘This is Masih ad-Dajjal.’” (First Chapter – Signs before the Day of Judgment and the Description of Dajjal, Mishkat al-Masabih 5483, Kitab al-Fitan)
Hadith–4
Narrated by Fatimah bint Qays (RA). She said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) announcing the prayer. After the prayer he sat upon the pulpit and smilingly said, “Let every person remain seated in his place of prayer.” Then he said, “Do you know why I have gathered you?” The companions said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He (SAW) said, “By Allah! I have not gathered you to give you something or to frighten you. Rather, I have gathered you to narrate an incident related by Tamim ad-Dari. Tamim ad-Dari was a Christian. He came to me and accepted Islam. He narrated to me an incident that corresponds with what I have told you about Masih ad-Dajjal.
He said that once he set out on a sea voyage with thirty men from the tribes of Lakhm and Judham. The sea waves tossed them around for one month, and eventually at sunset they entered an island. There they saw a beast whose entire body was covered with thick hair. Due to the excessive hair, it was impossible to determine its front from its back. They said to it, ‘Woe to you! Who are you?’ It replied, ‘I am Jassasah (that is, the seeker of hidden news). I desire to hear and know your information.’
Tamim ad-Dari said: Upon hearing the words of that beast, fear entered our hearts that it might be a jinn. Then we quickly went there and entered a church, where we saw a gigantic man the like of which we had never seen before. He was tightly bound, with his hands tied to his neck and his knees tied with iron chains to his ankles. We said to him, ‘Woe to you! Who are you?’ He said, ‘You will soon know about me, but first tell me who you are.’ They said, ‘We are people from Arabia. We boarded a ship on the sea, and the waves tossed us around for one month until they brought us here. After entering this island, we encountered a beast whose entire body was covered with dense hair. It said, “I am Jassasah.” It instructed us to come to this church, so we quickly came to you.’
He said, “Alright, tell me, do the date gardens of the Baysan area still bear fruit?” (Baysan is the name of a place in Hijaz). We replied, “Yes, they do.” He said, “Soon those trees will no longer bear fruit.” Then he said, “Tell me, is there water in the river of Tabariyyah?” We replied, “Yes, it contains abundant water.” He said, “Soon its water will dry up.” Then he asked, “Tell me, does the spring of Zughar contain water? And do the inhabitants there cultivate their fields using the water of that spring?” Then he asked, “Tell me, what is the news of the Prophet of the unlettered people?” We replied, “He has migrated from Makkah and is now residing in Yathrib (Madinah).” He asked, “Tell me, did the Arabs fight against him?” We said, “Yes, they did.” He asked, “What did he do with them?” In reply we said that he became victorious over the Arabs around him and they accepted his obedience. Upon hearing this, he said, “Know that it was beneficial for them to obey him.”
“Now I will describe my own condition. I am Masih ad-Dajjal. Soon I will be permitted to emerge. I will come out and travel throughout the earth. Within forty days there will remain no town into which I will not enter, except Makkah and Madinah. Entry into those two places has been forbidden upon me. Whenever I try to enter one of them, an angel with a drawn sword will come and prevent me from entering. In fact, angels are guarding every entrance to them.”
The narrator said: After narrating this much, the Messenger of Allah (SAW) struck the pulpit with his staff and said, “This is Tayyibah, this is Tayyibah, this is Tayyibah (Madinah).” Then he (SAW) said, “Tell me, had I not already narrated this hadith to you before?” The people replied, “Yes.” Then he (SAW) said, “Dajjal is in a sea near Syria or in a sea near Yemen.” Then he said, “No, rather he will come from the East.” Saying this, he pointed with his hand toward the East. (Muslim) (First Chapter – Signs before the Day of Judgment and the Description of Dajjal, 5482, Mishkat al-Masabih, Kitab al-Fitan)
Another narration states:
Fatimah bint Qays (RA), regarding the incident of Tamim ad-Dari, said that Tamim ad-Dari stated: “When I entered that island, I encountered a woman whose hair was so long that it dragged upon the ground.” Tamim asked, “Who are you?” She replied, “I am Jassasah (the seeker of hidden information).” Then she said, “Go toward this palace.” So I went there and saw a person with very long hair, firmly bound with iron chains, jumping between the sky and the earth. I asked, “Who are you?” He replied, “I am Dajjal.” (Sahih: Abu Dawud 4325, Al-Mu‘jam al-Kabir by At-Tabarani 20373.)
Hadith–5
Narrated by Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri (RA). He said: One day the Messenger of Allah (SAW), along with Abu Bakr and Umar (RA), met Ibn Sayyad on one of the roads of Madinah. Then the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to him, “Do you testify that I am the Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “Do you testify that I am the Messenger of Allah?” In response, the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “I believe in Allah, His angels, His revealed books, and all the messengers He has sent.” Then the Messenger (SAW) asked him, “What do you see?” He said, “I see a throne upon water.” Then the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “You see the throne of Iblis upon the sea.” He again asked, “What else do you see?” He replied, “I see two truthful ones and one liar,” or he said, “two liars and one truthful one.” Then the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “The matter has become confused for him. Therefore leave him.” (Muslim) First Chapter – Signs before the Day of Judgment and the Description of Dajjal 5495, Mishkat al-Masabih, Kitab al-Fitan.
Hadith–6
Narrated by Abu Bakrah (RA). He said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “The parents of Dajjal will remain childless for thirty years. Then a son will be born to them who will be one-eyed, have long teeth, and be useless. His eyes will sleep but his heart will not sleep.” Then the Messenger of Allah (SAW) described his parents. “His father will be thin-bodied, tall and slender, with a nose narrow like the beak of a bird. His mother will be heavy-bodied with long hands.”
Abu Bakrah (RA) said: We heard that such a child had been born in a Jewish household in Madinah. Then I and Zubayr ibn al-Awwam went to see him. When we reached his parents, we found them exactly as the Messenger of Allah (SAW) had described them. Then we asked them, “Do you have any child?” They replied, “We remained childless for thirty years, then a son was born to us who is one-eyed, has large teeth, and is worthless. His eyes sleep but his heart does not sleep.”
The narrator said: Then when we left them, we saw that child lying in the sunlight wrapped in a blanket, and a humming sound was coming from him. Then he removed the blanket from his head and said, “What were you two talking about?” We asked, “Did you hear what we said?” He replied, “Yes, I heard it. My eyes sleep, but my heart does not sleep.” (Tirmidhi) Second Chapter – The Incident of Ibn Sayyad 5503, Mishkat al-Masabih, Kitab al-Fitan.
Hadith–7
Narrated by Hudhayfah (RA). He said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Dajjal will be blind in the left eye, and he will have excessive hair on his head. With him will be his paradise and his hell. In reality, his hell will be paradise and his paradise will be hell.” (Muslim) First Chapter – Signs before the Day of Judgment and the Description of Dajjal 5474, Mishkat al-Masabih, Kitab al-Fitan.
Hadith–8
Narrated by Asma bint Yazid (RA). She said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) was in my house, and while discussing Dajjal he said, “The three years preceding the arrival of Dajjal will be such that during the first year the sky will withhold one-third of its rain and the earth will withhold one-third of its crops. During the second year the sky will withhold two-thirds of its rain and the earth will withhold two-thirds of its crops. And during the third year the sky will withhold all of its rain and the earth will withhold all of its crops. As a result, hoofed animals (such as cows and goats) and beasts with fangs (such as wild predatory animals) will perish completely.
The greatest fitnah of Dajjal will be that he will come to a Bedouin and say, ‘Tell me, if I bring your dead camels back to life, will you believe that I am your lord?’ He will say, ‘Yes.’ Then devils will appear before him in the form of his camels with excellent udders and fat humps.”
He (SAW) said: “Then Dajjal will come to a man whose brother and father have died. He will say to him, ‘Tell me, if I bring your father and brother back to life, will you not believe that I am your lord?’ He will say, ‘Yes, certainly I will believe.’ Then devils will appear taking the exact form of his father and brother.”
Asma (RA) said: After discussing this much, he (SAW) went outside for some need and later returned. Meanwhile, hearing about all these destructions of Dajjal, the people present became extremely worried. Asma (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) then stood at the door with both hands on the sides and said, “O Asma! What has happened?” I said, “O Messenger of Allah! Through your discussion about Dajjal, you have almost taken our hearts out.” Then he said, “There is no reason for worry. If he emerges while I am alive, then I myself will oppose him with proofs and evidence. And if I am not alive, then Allah Himself will take my place as the helper of every believer.”
Asma (RA) said: I asked, “O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, our condition is such that we prepare dough from flour, and before we are even free after making bread, we become restless with hunger again. So what will be the condition of the believers during that famine?” In reply he (SAW) said, “That thing which suffices for the inhabitants of the heavens will suffice for them as well, and that is tasbih and taqdis (that is, the remembrance and glorification of Allah).” (Ahmad, Signs before the Day of Judgment and the Description of Dajjal 5491)
Hadith–9
Narrated by Anas ibn Malik (RA). The Prophet (SAW) said: “There is no city except that Dajjal will enter it, except Makkah and Madinah. At every entrance to Makkah and Madinah, angels will stand in rows guarding them. Then Madinah will shake three times with its inhabitants, and Allah Ta‘ala will expel all disbelievers and hypocrites from it.” (7124, 7134, 7473, Muslim 52/24, Hadith 2943) (Modern Publication: 1747, Islamic Foundation: 1758)
Hadith–10
Narrated by Hazrat Mujammi ibn Jariya al-Ansari (RA), who said that he heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) saying, “Isa ibn Maryam will kill Dajjal at Bab-e-Lud.” (Sunan at-Tirmidhi: 2244; Musnad Ahmad)
Now we will analyze the hadiths. First, let us come to the issue of the Jew Ibn Qatan and Ibn Sayyad. It is not directly mentioned whether the two are the same person or two separate individuals. However, according to the hadith, one of them was seen by the Messenger of Allah (SAW) in a dream, and the other was directly questioned by him and then ordered to be abandoned. But the hadith also states that among people, the Jew Ibn Qatan bore the greatest resemblance or similarity to Dajjal, and that Ibn Sayyad himself was Dajjal. It is also narrated
Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir (RAH) reported that he said: I saw Jabir ibn Abdullah (RA) swearing by Allah that Ibn Sayyad was indeed the Dajjal. Then I said, “Are you swearing by Allah?” He replied, “I heard Umar (RA) swearing about this in the presence of the Prophet (SAW), and the Prophet (SAW) did not object.” (Bukhari and Muslim) First section – The incident of Ibn Sayyad, 5500, Mishkat al-Masabih, Kitab al-Fitan.
And in another hadith narrated by Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri (RA), he said: Once I traveled with Ibn Sayyad on the way to Makkah. He said to me, “I have faced strange assumptions from people. People say I am the Dajjal. Have you not heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say that Dajjal will not have children? Yet I have children. Did he not say that he will be a disbeliever? Yet I am a Muslim. Did he not say that he will not be able to enter Makkah and Madinah? Yet I have come from Madinah and am going to Makkah.”
Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri (RA) said: Then he said to me the final thing: “By Allah! Know that I know his (Dajjal’s) time of birth, place of birth, and where he currently is, and I even know his parents.” The narrator says: This last statement made me doubtful. Then I said, “May evil be upon you for the rest of the day.” Then one of the companions said, “Would you be pleased if you were that person?” He said, “If I am given the title of Dajjal, I would not dislike it.” (Muslim) First section – The incident of Ibn Sayyad, 5498, Mishkat al-Masabih, Kitab al-Fitan.
Now here a question arises: why did the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say such things when he clearly mentioned that Dajjal will be one-eyed and that “Kafir” will be written on his forehead, whereas Ibn Qatan or Ibn Sayyad do not match those descriptions, neither being one-eyed nor matching other descriptions of Dajjal? Yet the Prophet (SAW) compared them.
Possibly the reason for this is dreams, which were shown to the Prophet (SAW), just as Yusuf (AS) saw symbolic dreams whose interpretations carried different meanings. First, Ibn Qatan was a Jew, which indicates the Jewish community. Second, Ibn Sayyad had an unusual character, which may reflect abnormal activities of the Digital system and its controlling group.
Similarly, if we analyze the hadiths, we will see that the narration of Tamim ad-Dari is also a dream, not a real incident. Tamim ad-Dari was a Christian. The Bible also mentions Dajjal. Here two creatures are mentioned. We will discuss this later.
Now why the narration of Tamim ad-Dari is a dream, we will think about this logically based on hadiths. If we look at Hadith 6, we see disagreement about the birth of Dajjal. In that case, who was the person seen by Tamim ad-Dari on the island, and why did the Prophet (SAW) not go there himself or send someone, while he personally went to see Ibn Sayyad? According to hadith, Tamim ad-Dari and thirty other people were lost at sea but later returned to Arabia. Since they returned, they must have known the route, yet the Prophet (SAW) said Dajjal is in a sea in Syria or Yemen, then said he will come from the East.
Also, only Tamim ad-Dari reported this incident; no one else gave such testimony or accept islam according to hadith. And the description of the large bound man suggests he was sighted and not one-eyed. The place described as a church also raises questions historically.
But if we look at the invention of the internet and its central control system, we may perhaps get a similar concept regarding such a “controlled structure” or system.
The initial reason for the invention of the internet was military. First, the American military organization Pentagon began to realize the necessity of such a technology in order to maintain continuous secret communication with its global positions. Therefore, around the 1960s, they began new research on computer technology. In continuation of this, in 1962, JCR Licklider, one of the most discussed and leading researchers of DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects), invented the Galactic Network.
Through this network, communication between one computer and another became possible. This method was mainly called Packet Switching. However, at that time the NSF took responsibility for the internet. That is, NSF provided all technical support for the internet. Then scientists of the United States Department of Defense created the first internal communication system between only 4 computers. Three of those computers were in California and one was in Utah. This communication system was called DARPANET.
Gradually this technology was further developed, and in 1989 the World Wide Web and HTTP were invented. In 1993, with the invention of the world’s first web browser Mosaic, it became possible for the first time to display images and text together on the same page in the internet world. As a result, the demand for the internet gradually increased all over the world. Therefore, in the early 1990s, to make the internet usable for the general public, a central network system (mainly under the supervision of US-based organizations like ICANN) was established and opened for international communication. Thus, the world became introduced to a new concept called “Internet.”
With the support of China and several African countries, Russia has long been supporting the idea of transferring control of the international internet from private multi-stakeholder organizations like ICANN to the United Nations, especially its International Telecommunication Union (ITU). But the United States, European countries, and other groups have been opposing this.
Here one important matter should be mentioned, and that is GPS or Global Positioning System. It is a satellite-based navigation system operated by the United States Department of Defense, which is used to determine precise location, speed, and time anywhere on Earth. No one else has control over it.
Now let us come to the creature called Jassasa, which is mentioned only in the hadith of Tamim ad-Dari and nowhere else. In the hadith, the creature or woman named Jassasa came before Dajjal and provided information about him. If we look deeply, we see that the meaning of the name Jassasa contains its identity. Jassasa means “information seeker” or “spy.” Now, whether information is hidden or visible, how we collect and process it is the main issue. A camera or image-capturing device is something that captures information, and it existed before computers and televisions and is a very important part of the digital system.
Now let us come to the matter of Dajjal’s duration of stay on earth, which will further strengthen our understanding that Dajjal is not a single individual. In Hadith no. 2, regarding Dajjal’s stay on earth, the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said that he will remain for forty days. The first day will be equal to one year, the second day equal to one month, and the third day equal to one week. The remaining days will be like normal days. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) also said that on the day which will be equal to one year, the prayer of that day should be calculated according to its duration. He (SAW) also said that Dajjal’s speed will be like clouds driven by the wind.
However, in another hadith it is stated that:
Narrated by Asma bint Yazid ibn al-Sakan (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, “Dajjal will remain on earth for forty years. His year will be like a month, his month like a week, and his week like a day. And his day will be like the time a dry date branch burns and is reduced to ashes in fire.” (Sharh al-Sunnah) Second section – Signs before the Day of Judgment and the description of Dajjal, 5489, Mishkat al-Masabih, Kitab al-Fitan.
The forty days and forty years mentioned in the hadith indicate two different states of Dajjal’s existence. In the Holy Qur’an, Allah says: “Indeed your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself over the Throne. He covers the night with the day, each pursuing the other rapidly, and He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, all subjected to His command. Surely His is the creation and the command. Blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds.” (Surah Al-A‘raf: 54)
In the Qur’an, this statement is mentioned seven times. Here the word ‘day’ (Arabic: Ayyam) does not mean a 24-hour day, but rather long periods or phases. In Islamic tradition, the Qur’an and Hadith, the numbers 4, 40, 7 and 70 have special significance. Some examples are given below:
Use and significance of the number 4 in Islam:
- Limit of polygamy: A man can have up to 4 wives with the condition of justice (Surah An-Nisa, verse 3).
- Rivers of Paradise: Four types of rivers are mentioned in Paradise—water, milk, wine, and pure honey.
- Human creation: According to Hadith, the fetus receives the soul at 4 months.
- Four Caliphs: Abu Bakr (RA), Umar (RA), Uthman (RA), and Ali (RA).
- Four Madhhabs: Hanafi, Shafi‘i, Maliki, and Hanbali.
- Four Angels: Jibra’il (AS), Mika’il (AS), Israfil (AS), and Azra’il (AS).
Use and significance of the number 40 in Islam:
- Age of maturity and perfection: In the Qur’an, when a person reaches the age of 40, his intellectual and spiritual maturity reaches its peak.
- Prophethood: Prophet Muhammad (SAW) received prophethood at the age of 40.
- Moses (AS) at Mount Tur: Allah called Musa (AS) for 30 nights and then added 10 more nights (total 40 nights) for worship.
- Development of the fetus: According to Hadith, the fetus completes three stages of 40 days each (total 120 days) and then the soul is breathed into it.
- Forty days of worship: It is mentioned in Hadith that whoever prays in congregation for 40 days with the first Takbir is granted protection from hypocrisy and Hell.
- Spiritual discipline (Chilla): According to Sufis, a 40-day spiritual retreat or worship is very important for spiritual development.
Use and significance of the number 7 in Islam:
- Seven heavens and earth: Allah has created seven heavens and seven earths (Surah At- Talaq, verse 12).
- Qur’anic verses: The first surah of the Holy Qur’an, Surah Al-Fatiha, consists of 7 verses
- Rituals of Hajj: During Hajj and Umrah, it is obligatory to perform Tawaf around the kaba 7 times and perform Sa’i between Safa and Marwa 7 times.
- Seven levels of Hell: Hell has 7 levels or gates.
- Protection from difficulties: In Hadith, 7 special deeds are mentioned that protect a person from destructive actions.
- Aqiqah of a child: It is Sunnah to perform Aqiqah on the 7th day after a child’s birth.
Use and significance of the number 70 in Islam:
- To indicate abundance: In Arabic language, the number 70 is often used to indicate a very large or countless amount.
- Forgiveness and seeking forgiveness: Allah says, even if you ask forgiveness 70 times for the hypocrites, Allah will not forgive them (Surah At-Tawbah: 80). Here 70 indicates the ultimate limit of forgiveness.
- Increase in reward for worship: In Ramadan or special acts of worship, rewards are increased 70 times or more.
- Chains of Hell: It is mentioned that disobedient people will be bound in chains 70 cubits long in Hell.
- 70,000 angels: For a person who performs special remembrance or deeds, 70,000 angels pray for him.
In short, in Islam the number 40 generally indicates completion of life or a specific period, 70 indicates abundance and extreme limits of reward or punishment, while the number 4 represents balance in social and religious laws, and the number 7 indicates completion in creation and worship.
If we now look at the period of Dajjal mentioned in Hadith no. 2, this “40 days” refers to a time period divided into different stages, just as the Qur’an says that Allah created the heavens and the earth in six days.
Now if we look at the invention of the computer chip or microprocessor, we see that the integrated circuit (computer chip) was invented in 1958 by Jack Kilby of Texas Instruments and independently in early 1959 by Robert Noyce of Fairchild Semiconductor. Kilby demonstrated the first functional monolithic integrated circuit made of germanium in September 1958, while Noyce developed a more practical silicon-based chip using the planar process.
Following this invention, Intel created the microprocessor in 1971. Essentially, this is where it begins. Whether we look at software or hardware, three stages can be observed, as described in the hadith.
First, in hardware: desktop, then laptop, and later palm-top or mobile.
In software: Disk Operating System, Windows, and Android.
Now regarding time or stages: if we think deeply, we see that DOS lasted for a long period, which in the hadith is compared to one day equal to one year. Then comes the Windows system, where one day is compared to one month. Finally, Android or mobile phones, where one day is compared to one week. The remaining days are compared to normal days. These are not something new, but rather the gradual development of software and hardware.
The most important point is that in reality, one day can never equal one year on earth. Day and night cannot change in an extraordinary way scientifically, because it is directly connected to the existence of the creations.
As the Qur’an says: “Yasin. By the Wise Qur’an.” (Surah Ya-Sin 36:1–2)
“Indeed in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day are signs for people of understanding.” (Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:190)
In another verse: “And He it is who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; all are swimming in their orbit.” (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:33)
In this case the question arises: then why has it been said that we should calculate for performing prayer? The reason is nothing else, rather it is the means of human movement and its result. For this reason it has been said in the hadith that Dajjal will remain on the earth for forty years. Its year will be like a month, its month will be like a week, and its week will be like a day. And the day will be like the time it takes for a dried date branch to be burned and finished in fire.
Previously, where it used to take weeks, months, or years to go somewhere, now it is possible to travel there day by day. For example, even in 1972 it was necessary to go for Hajj by sea through ships from bangladesh, and gradually due to technological advancement and accessibility, instead of ships now people travel by airplanes for Hajj or anywhere else.
Now the question of why it has been said to calculate for prayer will be explained through two examples. First, let us consider traveling from Bangladesh to Saudi Arabia. If we perform Dhuhr prayer at 1 PM in Dhaka and depart from Dhaka airport to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in April, and after more than 6 hours of travel when we reach Saudi Arabia, normally we would have to perform Asr, Maghrib, and then Isha prayer. But in Saudi Arabia, the time of Dhuhr prayer is still going on because of time zones. Saudi Arabia is three hours behind Bangladesh. Now the question is what should we do—should we pray asr, Magrib again in jamaat or not?
Now if we perform Asr prayer at 5 PM and depart again for Bangladesh, then after 6 hours of travel when we arrive in Dhaka, the time of Maghrib would have ended and the time of Isha would have also ended , even the time of Tahajjud might begin. In this case what should we do?
Some will say that we can pray in the plane, but here there are two problems: 1) direction, and 2) time zone. Determining direction means qibla in a plane is a problem, and similarly time zone is another problem. This is not like praying while sitting in a car or on an animal, although according to fatwa it is permissible to pray in a plane, Because during the travel in the plane, according to the time zone you are in, Maghrib time may be going on, whereas you are praying Asr according to clock time.
Now let us consider the flight from Bangladesh to Canada. Usually, a direct flight takes about 18 hours and the time difference between Dhaka and Canada is 11 hours. Now if someone departs from Dhaka to Canada after performing Isha prayer around 12 at night, then when he arrives in Canada, it should again be the time of Isha prayer, but in reality he will arrive in the morning and only Fajr prayer will be missed.
On the other hand, if he departs from Canada on the 20th after performing Fajr prayer and travels back to Bangladesh for 18 hours, then when he reaches Bangladesh he will be on the 21st, and then the time of duhur prayer of the next day will begin. In this case what will be the ruling of his prayers, even though he prays in the plane?
Now let us come to the issue of the speed of Dajjal. In the second hadith it is said that the speed of Dajjal will be like a cloud driven by wind. In another hadith it is mentioned:
Abu Hurairah (RA) narrates from the Prophet (PBUH) that he said: Dajjal will emerge riding a white donkey. The distance between its two ears will be seventy cubits wide. (Bayhaqi, “Kitab al-Ba‘th wa al-Nushur”) Third section – Signs before the Day of Judgment and description of Dajjal, 5493, Mishkat al-Masabih (Mishkat), Fitna.
Now, in reality, based on the above discussion and in light of the Qur’an, if we analyze it, then “cloud driven by wind” refers to thunderclouds or cumulonimbus clouds, because there is a very deep and direct relationship between wind-driven clouds and lightning. In simple terms, when air rises rapidly and causes collisions inside clouds, lightning is produced. That is, it refers to electricity and its speed, which is the driving force of computers, the internet, television, or mobile phones.
Otherwise, it is not possible for any human being to achieve the speed of a wind-driven cloud. Similarly, it is not even imaginable in reality that a donkey would have a distance of seventy cubits between its two ears. But if it is taken symbolically, then it is a different matter. The Qur’an says: “And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice. Indeed, the most unpleasant of voices is the voice of donkeys.” (Surah Luqman 31:19)
Now, if we do not take “donkey” literally but take “voice” symbolically, then another meaning can be found. The English phonetic alphabet (phonetic alphabet) mainly has two types: the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), which is used for pronunciation, and the NATO phonetic alphabet, which is used in radio communication to clearly spell letters. For computer typing and learning, IPA is most important, which represents 44 phonemes (sounds). In computers, IPA is used for correct English pronunciation, because English spelling does not always match pronunciation.
Now, regarding the donkey’s ears and the mentioned distance of seventy cubits between them: if we look at mobile towers or internet servers, we see that they are placed at specific distances from each other. And since this is related to hearing ability, “ears” here come as a symbolic meaning.
Here a point must be mentioned: time dilation.
Time dilation occurs mainly for two reasons:
- Velocity-based time dilation (Special Relativity):
The faster an object moves (closer to the speed of light), the slower time passes for it.
Example: If a spacecraft travels at very high speed in space and returns, the time experienced by the astronaut will be less than the time passed for his twin on Earth. - Gravitational time dilation (General Relativity):
Where gravitational force is stronger (such as near a black hole), time passes more slowly.
Example: Compared to Earth’s surface, time passes faster in space where gravity is weaker. GPS satellites’ clocks run slightly faster than Earth’s clocks, and without adjusting this, GPS would not work. On average, GPS satellite clocks run about 38 microseconds faster per day compared to Earth’s surface.
Now, in the digital system era, we are seeing the real implementation of time dilation.
Now let us come to the description of Dajjal. In the first hadith it is said that Dajjal will certainly be one-eyed. Between his two eyes will be written “K-F-R,” meaning “disbeliever.” On the other hand,
It is narrated from Abdullah ibn Umar (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Dajjal’s right eye will be blind, and his blind eye will appear like a swollen grape.” (Sahih al-Bukhari; Hadith 6590)
In another hadith narrated from Hudhayfah (RA), the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Dajjal’s left eye will be blind. He will have very thick hair. He will have with him a fabricated paradise and hell. His hell will be paradise and his paradise will be hell.” (Sahih Muslim; Hadith 7551)
It is seen that in one hadith it is mentioned that Dajjal’s right eye will be blind, and in another hadith it is mentioned that his left eye will be blind, and his blind eye will appear like a swollen grape. The matter of Dajjal being one-eyed is symbolic.
The human eye mainly functions as a sense organ for seeing, which detects light and color and sends visual information to the brain. It helps in focusing near and distant objects, understanding shapes, depth (3D vision), and movement. The eye receives light from the external world and helps us see through reflection and image formation. Now, if we look at a monitor, TV, or mobile phone, we see that humans receive light from it and view images through reflection. But when there is no electricity, or it is turned off or damaged, it becomes useless—like being blind. Its main function is directly related to the eye.
For this reason, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said in a hadith comparing with the Lord of the worlds that your Lord is not one-eyed, because in the Qur’an it is said: “Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep…” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255). And: “Indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing” (Surah An-Nisa 4:58).
Now, if we look at the structure and colors of a monitor or television, especially CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitors or TVs, we may find a reason for the description of “hairy appearance” and “swollen grape-like eye.”
And the meaning of “written Kafir on the forehead” is also because no mobile, TV, or monitor carries an Islamic name in a literal sense.
Now we will discuss the situation of the world before Dajjal. In the 8th hadith it is mentioned that before the arrival of Dajjal, for three years: in the first year, the sky will withhold one-third of its rain and the earth one-third of its produce; in the second year, the sky will withhold two-thirds of its rain and the earth two-thirds of its produce; and in the third year, the sky will withhold all its rain and the earth all its produce, so that hoofed animals (such as cows and goats) and predatory animals will perish.
Now, if we take it as symbolic like the dream of Yusuf (AS), we can connect it with three major historical events of the last century in which one country was heavily involved. That country is Germany: the First World War, the Second World War, and finally the fall of the Berlin Wall, the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the reunification of Germany. As a result, extremist nationalist behavior was suppressed in a conservative way, and global dominance shifted, and instead of Jewish hostility, Jewish protection/support began.
Now it is also mentioned in the second hadith that Dajjal will come to another community and invite them to disbelief. They will reject his call. Then he will leave them. After that, famine and shortage of water will appear among them, and their wealth will be taken away from their hands. Then Dajjal will pass by a ruined land and will address it, saying: bring out your hidden treasures. Then the treasures of the earth will come out and follow him, like bees following their leader.
Now if we look at the situation of the Middle East and consider Iran, and also look at other Arab countries, we can easily see the truth of the hadith, where oil is that hidden treasure, the desert is that barren land, and the US dollar is like the leader of the bees mentioned in the hadith.
On the other hand, in the 8th hadith it is mentioned that the greatest trial of Dajjal will be that he will come to a Bedouin and say: tell me, if I bring your dead camels back to life, will you believe that I am your lord? He will say yes. Then “Satan” will appear in the form of his camels with strong bodies, large udders, and fat humps.
Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that Dajjal will come to a person whose brother and father have died and will ask him: if I bring your father and brothers back to life, will you then believe that I am your lord? He will say yes. Then “Satan” will come in the exact form of his father and brother.
Now the Qur’an says: “That is because Allah is the Truth, and He gives life to the dead, and He is over all things capable. And indeed the Hour is coming, there is no doubt about it, and Allah will resurrect those in the graves.” (Surah Al-Hajj 22:6–7)
And in Surah Yasin it is said: “He says: Who will give life to bones when they are decayed? Say: He who created them the first time will give them life.” (Verses 78–79)
Meaning, no one except Allah can bring the dead back to life. But in the hadith it is mentioned that Satan will take forms. This appears illogical and unrealistic, because as mentioned earlier in Surah Az-Zukhruf (33–35), there are limitations of creation, and it is also not scientifically possible.
But if we look from a different perspective, we can find similarities in the hadith’s statement. Audio-visual representation, still or moving images, photography or camera usage—through these, whether animals or humans, we can “see” the dead and the living being represented visually. And this technology existed before Dajjal, just as in the hadith of Tamim al-Dari, the concept of “Jassasa” was mentioned.
Now let us come to the matter of Dajjal’s Paradise and Hell. According to Hadith and the Quran, Paradise is the place of eternal happiness in the Hereafter, and Hell is the place of eternal suffering. In that case, what could Dajjal’s Paradise and Hell be in this world? Now, if we look at the matter from the perspective of reality in a slightly different way toward promotion in the digital system, then we will see that Islamic culture and Western culture dominate here. Now, if we analyze the characteristics of Islamic culture and Western culture, then we will be able to understand why Paradise has been called Hell and Hell has been called Paradise.
Islamic culture is the way of life of Muslims conducted in the light of the Quran and Sunnah, which contains morality, etiquette, art, and social customs. It is not only religious rituals, but rather a complete form of human thought and family and social activities. Hijab, halal food, mutual respect, and festivals (Eid) are its main characteristics.
Main characteristics of Islamic culture:
Faith and worship: Recognition of faith or the oneness of Allah, and performing the five daily prayers, fasting, zakat, and Hajj.
Morality and etiquette: Speaking the truth, honesty, maintaining kinship relations, respecting elders and loving younger ones, and behaving well with people.
Family and social life: The veil system (hijab/niqab), consuming halal food, family bonds, and respecting women.
Art and architecture: Calligraphy or calligraphic art, geometric designs, and the architectural style of mosques, madrasas, and palaces.
Festivals and culture: Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha, fasting in the month of Ramadan, and exchanging mutual greetings.
Social perspective: In Islamic society, alcohol is considered impure and to be avoided. Since it destroys intellect and conscience, it has been declared haram.
Western culture is a mixed form of social customs, values, art, technology, and beliefs centered on Europe and North America, whose main foundation is Greco-Roman civilization and Christianity. It emphasizes individualism, democracy, scientific thought, and modern technology, which, as a result of globalization, is currently influencing the whole world.
Main characteristics of Western culture:
Individualism: The highest importance is given to personal opinion, freedom, and individual achievement.
Democracy and human rights: Emphasis is placed on political freedom, freedom of speech, and personal choice.
Rational thinking and science: Innovation is prioritized through scientific reasoning and technology instead of blind belief.
Lifestyle: Fast-paced life, capitalism or a capitalist economy, and a high level of commitment to work.
Art and literature: Modern painting, music, and post-Renaissance art are inseparable parts of this culture.
Social customs: Drinking alcohol at the beginning of a dinner, party, or any celebration is a social custom there. In many cases, it is also seen as a symbol of taste and aristocracy with food.
Now let us come to the limitations of Dajjal. In Hadith number 9 it is mentioned that there is no city, except Makkah and Madinah, where Dajjal will not walk. At every entrance of Makkah and Madinah, angels will be stationed in rows guarding them. Then Madinah will shake three times with its inhabitants, and Allah Ta‘ala will expel all disbelievers and hypocrites. Now, if we look at reality, then the question will arise that all digital systems are being fully used in Makkah and Madinah, so what is meant by Dajjal not being able to enter those cities? Earlier I mentioned two cultures: Islamic culture and Western culture. Makkah, Madinah, and the core Aqidah (belief) of Islam are inseparably connected with one another. Makkah is the center of the emergence and belief of Islam, and Madinah is the center of the implementation of that belief and the state structure. In one word, the complete Aqidah and system of life of Islam that was formed through the lives of Makkah and Madinah during the time of Rasulullah (SAW) has remained unchanged even in this twenty-first century era of digitalization by the mercy and help of Allah. As it is mentioned in the Quran: “(Remember) when you sought help from your Lord, and He answered you, ‘Indeed, I will reinforce you with one thousand angels coming one after another.’” (Surah Al-Anfal 8:9).
Now, if we closely observe the NATO alliance attack on Afghanistan after the 9/11 incident, the civil war in Syria, and the Yemen war, and see the role of Saudi Arabia in them, then the meaning of Madinah shaking three times with its inhabitants and all disbelievers and hypocrites coming out, as described in the Hadith, can be understood.
Now let us come to the appearance of Dajjal. In Hadith number 2 it has been said that Dajjal will emerge from the route between Iraq and Syria. Again, in Hadith number 4 Rasulullah (SAW) said that Dajjal is in some sea of Syria or in some sea of Yemen. Later he said, no, rather he will come from the East. Saying this, he (SAW) pointed toward the East with his hand. Again, according to another Hadith, Dajjal will emerge from the Khurasan region of the East.
‘Amr ibn Hurays (Rahimahullah) narrated from Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA). He said, Rasulullah (SAW) said: Dajjal will emerge from the eastern region of Khurasan, and a tribe whose faces will be flat like shields will follow him. (Tirmidhi) Second Chapter – The Signs Before Qiyamah and the Description of Dajjal 5487.
In this case, the question arises: which one is correct? Reality says that all of them are correct. If we look at the meaning of the word ‘Dajjal’, Dajjal is derived from the root word (دجل), which means to lie, to deceive, or to cover the truth with falsehood. In that case, every field of emergence is correct. First let us come to Iraq, where “we first heard about the New World Order from President George H.W. Bush in his 1991 State of the Union speech — 12 days after leading the allied forces in the war against Iraq and after the fall of the Soviet Union. The Iraq war of 2003 is one of the most controversial chapters of modern history, at the center of which was intelligence regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and the later controversy of identifying it as ‘false’ or ‘deception’. In this war, several hundred thousand Iraqi civilians and thousands of American soldiers were killed. At the same time, it paved the way for long-term instability in the Middle East and the rise of extremist groups (such as ISIS). On 5 February 2003, the then U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell gave a long speech at the United Nations. There he presented satellite images and various evidence claiming that Iraq possessed mobile biological laboratories and prohibited weapons. Later he himself described this speech as a ‘stain’ on his career, because the information he provided was not correct.
Now let us come to Syria. The wave of the Arab Spring in 2011 initiated a terrible and long-lasting civil war in Syria, which ultimately became the cause of the fall of the long-standing Assad regime. But in reality, the Syrian civil war (2011–present) is not merely an internal rebellion, rather it is a conflict of geopolitics, energy resources (gas pipelines), and the interests of superpowers. Behind this war, Europe’s gas supply system and the strategic role of the United States are extremely important. In addition, the United States wanted to remove Assad in order to reduce Iran’s influence on Israel’s border. For that reason, to pressure the Assad government, the United States imposed strict sanctions such as the “Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act.”
Now let us come to the case of Yemen. Although the Yemen war is basically an internal power conflict or civil war, in reality it has become the center of the Saudi-Iran regional rivalry and the U.S.-Iran geopolitical competition. Since the beginning of the war, the United States has been providing intelligence information, logistical support, and weapons to the Saudi-led coalition. On the other hand, the United States has long carried out drone strikes and special operations in Yemen against Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), where during the war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan in the 1980s, Osama bin Laden formed Al-Qaeda from a part of the Mujahideen network that had been created through the funding and training of the U.S. intelligence agency CIA.
Now let us come to the East. The interesting matter is that historically and geographically, Khurasan is a vast region located to the east of Madinah and Saudi Arabia. That is, Iran and Afghanistan. In ancient times, Khurasan was the eastern region of the Persian Empire. Among its main cities were Balkh, Herat (Afghanistan), and Nishapur (Iran). First let us come to Afghanistan. Earlier, the matter of the relationship between Al-Qaeda and America was mentioned. The terrorist attack in America on 11 September 2001 (9/11) was a well-planned attack carried out by Al-Qaeda, for which there is no indisputable or official proof of direct involvement by the U.S. government. However, for many years various theories have been circulated regarding this event, where it is claimed that the U.S. government or intelligence agencies knew about it or carried it out themselves. Many people believe that using this attack as an excuse, the United States implemented aggressive policies in Afghanistan and Iraq. Earlier, the confession of the former U.S. Secretary of State regarding Iraq was mentioned.
On the other hand, after the Islamic Revolution of 1979, the new Islamic Republic described the United States as the “Great Satan” and Israel as the “Little Satan.” Iran severed relations with Israel and became a staunch opponent of the United States, which marked the beginning of decades of conflict characterized by U.S. trade sanctions, blockades, and deep hostility. By 2026, this hostility turned into open war, where the U.S. and Israel attacked Iranian targets in response to Iran’s nuclear program and regional proxy activities. On the other hand, U.S. President Trump clearly stated that he wants to take control of Iran’s oil resources and wants to earn “huge revenue” from oil through the Strait of Hormuz.
Now let us come to the killing of Dajjal. According to Hadith number 10, Dajjal will be killed. Now, if some advanced and different technology comes, then will the use of digital technology remain? Just as digital technology replaced analog technology. In this case, like the Bible, the Quran and Hadith also mention an animal as one of the signs of Qiyamah that will speak with humans: Dabbatul Ard. It is mentioned in the Quran: “And when the word is fulfilled against them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth that will speak to them, because mankind did not firmly believe in Our signs.” (Surah An-Naml, Verse: 82)
Now let us come to the case of the Bible. Revelation Chapter 13 of the Bible is a very important and symbolic chapter, where the description of two Beasts is given, who work under the direction of Satan. Here, the matter of resurrection or revival is especially mentioned in the case of the first Beast, which is seen as an imitation or satanic copy of the resurrection of Jesus, that is Isa (AS). The main points are presented below:
1. The Beast from the Sea.
Description: This Beast had seven heads, ten horns, and ten crowns upon its horns. It looked like a combination of a leopard, a bear, and a lion.
Resurrection (healing of the deadly wound): One of the heads of this Beast had received a “fatal wound” or deadly injury, but that wound was healed (revived/healed).
Wonder of the earth: Seeing it recover from the deadly wound, the whole earth became amazed and followed the Beast.
Power of Satan: The dragon or Satan gave this Beast his power, throne, and great authority.
Blasphemy against God: The Beast opened its mouth to blaspheme against God, His name, and the inhabitants of heaven.
2. The Beast from the Earth
Description: The second Beast had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon.
Activities: This second Beast exercises all the authority of the first Beast (which had survived the wound) and forces the inhabitants of the earth to worship the first Beast.
Miraculous works: It deceives people by performing great miraculous signs such as bringing down fire from heaven.
3. The Mark of the Beast
Restriction on buying and selling: The second Beast forces people to bear a mark or sign in the name of the first Beast on their right hand or forehead. Whoever does not have this specific mark — which is the Beast’s name or the number of its name (666) — will not be able to buy, sell, or conduct transactions.
Now if we observe carefully, then we will see the 7 heads, 10 horns, and 10 crowns. Now the question arises why there are so many heads and horns where in reality no such animal exists. If we take its symbolic meaning, then perhaps we may find the meaning. We have seen the use of the number 7 in Islam. Now the question is why heads and why so many of them. The possible reason is computers. If we compare the similarities between the work of the head and the computer, then through logic we may find similarity with reality. Because the brain and the computer — both are highly complex and capable of functioning as information processing systems. Although the brain is biological and the computer is electronic, there are several notable similarities in their methods of operation:
- Information Processing:
Brain: Receives information from different senses of the body (eyes, ears, nose, etc.) and reacts accordingly.
Computer: Takes input data through keyboards, mouse, or sensors and processes it. - Memory or Storage:
Brain: The brain can remember information or memories and retrieve them when necessary.
Computer: Uses hard drives or RAM (Random Access Memory) to store data. - Logic or Decision Making:
Brain: Capable of problem solving, analysis, and making logical decisions.
Computer: Can quickly perform logical and mathematical operations through algorithms and programs. - Electrochemical Signals:
Brain: Uses electrical and chemical signals through neurons to exchange information.
Computer: Works through electrical signals flowing within circuits. - Pattern Recognition:
Brain: Recognizes patterns in images, sounds, or events and solves problems, which is known as the “Pattern Recognition Theory of Mind.”
Computer: Through machine learning, it can recognize patterns in data and make predictions or decisions.
In short, the brain is an extraordinary biological computer that can improve itself by learning from the environment (Neuroplasticity), whereas the computer is a machine created by humans that works quickly according to fixed rules.
Now the question will arise: why has it been called a Beast in the Bible whereas in the Hadith it has been called a human? The reason is that it is difficult to directly compare the human brain with a computer, because the brain is far more complex and adaptable, and the creativity and consciousness of the human brain are unique. On the other hand, the computer is an excellent tool created by humans and a machine controlled by humans. In Surah Yasin, verses 71–72, Allah says: “Do they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made grazing livestock, and they are their owners? And We have subdued them to them, so some of them are for riding and some they eat.” But the control of digital technology is only in the hands of a specific group. That is why it is mentioned in the Hadith: “Narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA), he said, Rasulullah (SAW) said: Shall I not tell you about Dajjal something which no Prophet told his people? That is, he will be one-eyed. And he will bring with him something like Paradise and Hell. What he will call Paradise will actually be Hell. And I warn you as Nuh warned his people.” [Sahih Bukhari and Muslim] – [Sahih Bukhari – 3338]
Now let us come to what is meant by the 10 horns and 10 crowns. It means power and authority, and at the same time expressing the binary numbers 0 1 and 1 0. Because the binary or base-2 number system is a mathematical system based on 2, where only two symbols or digits — 0 (zero) and 1 (one) — are used to express all numbers, and its sequence is 0 1 1 0. This system is used in computers and digital electronic systems for the exchange and processing of information, where 0 means “off” (Low) and 1 means “on” (High) or the presence of an electrical signal.
Now let us come to the case of the second Beast. Here it is directly mentioned that the second Beast will force people to worship the first Beast and this Beast will have a number which every person will be compelled to accept, and if they do not accept it, they will not be able to buy or sell. Now if we look at reality, then we will see cameras and computers, especially smartphones, where both devices are deeply interconnected and numbers (binary numbers) are the main basis of their operation, through which many activities are being carried out that even one hundred years ago would have appeared impossible and miraculous to humans, and this technology is under the direct control of a group. It can be said that most people have a phone number or atleast a digital Id. Those who opposed its controlling group, that is the satanic powers, have faced economic sanctions. If we look at Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria, then we will find similarities with reality.
In conclusion, I would say that the above discussion is entirely a reflection of personal thought, and therefore it is natural that it may be wrong. Although the statements of this writing conflict with the currently prevalent Islamic Aqidah, according to the definition of faith (faith means a human feeling without doubt, with logic, and without argument) and according to the signs described in the Quran, from the perspective of reality it seemed more logical that Dajjal is not a single human being, but rather the digital system and its controlling group are the Dajjal described in the Hadith and the Antichrist described in the Bible.
